空気清浄器は、『きれいな空気』を生み出す機械です。しかし、どの程度の空気が機械に取り込まれ、そしてきれいになって排出され、循環しているのか私達が認識するのは難しいのです。それは空気が私達の目に見えないものだからです。しかし、空気清浄器という機械の原理上、いったん空気を機械内に取り込み、フィルターなどを通してきれいにしてから排出するという構造は、効率良く空気を循環させるためには不可避なものでもあります。そこで、ここで提案する空気清浄器は、空気清浄器内に取り込まれ、きれいになった空気をキャパシティーとして視覚化し、断続的に変化するボリュームで空間を創り出すことで、私達と空気清浄器との新しい関係を築くものです。 An air purifier is a machine that produces "clean air."
