シンプルでオーソドックスなデザインを心がけてデザインしました。 とても軽く、使いやすく、あまり緊張しすぎない、しかしそこまでカジュアルでもない。 runoの丸く柔らかいデザインと対照的に、tachiは、凛とした佇まいを持ったデザインです。（写真の後半はrunoとの比較です） 非常に軽く出来ています。 斜め上からはあまり裏側が見えませんが、裏側の削り込みにより手がすっと入り、大変持ちやすくデザインされています。 山中塗とは、石川県加賀市の山中温泉地区で作られる漆器で、山中漆器と呼ばれます。国産のミズメ桜を轆轤挽きで仕上げ、拭き漆技法で仕上げました。 We designed this product with a simple and orthodox design in mind. It is very light, easy to use, not too strained, but not that casual either. In contrast to the round and soft design of runo, tachi has a dignified appearance. (The second half of the photo is a comparison with runo.) It is made very light. Although you cannot see the back side of the bowl from an angle, the back side has been cut down so that you can easily put your hand into the bowl, making it very easy to hold. Yamanaka-nuri is a type of lacquerware produced in the Yamanaka Onsen area of Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and is called Yamanaka lacquerware. The potter's wheel is made of domestically produced mizume-zakura (cherry tree) and finished with the wipe lacquer technique.

これは、信楽焼の陶器で出来た厨子（仏壇）です。 陶器の気品と重厚感が仏壇に存在感を与えています。 現在の住宅事情にあっても、置き場所をとらず、みんなの集まるリビングにおいても違和感がなく、 小さくとも確かな気品と存在感は陶器ならではのものです。

磁器の湯たんぽのデザインです。布団の中へ入れて使用する湯たんぽですが、多くの湯たんぽは、蓋の部分が突起として出ています。その出っ張りをなくし、人が触れる形状としてもっともあってほしかった形態を目指しました。This is a porcelain hot water bottle design. Most hot-water bottles are placed in a futon and the lid of the bottle protrudes from the futon. We eliminated the protrusion and aimed to create a shape that people can touch.

このホーバークラフトは、ボディの前面のボンネットに搭乗口があり、大きなボリューム感がありますが、このラッピングデザインで最も重要なのは、その部分の活かし方であると考えました。遠くからでも目につきやすくキラリと光る印象を与えたいと思い、宇宙、海、空、大地、大分の自然をイメージさせるカラフルなストライプをキーデザインとして、このボンネットから全体に流すように配置しました。ストライプは進行方向に流れるようなデザインで、海上で走っている姿が美しいものになることを考えました。宇宙や自然へとつながる未来感のあるデザインとしています。This hovercraft has a boarding gate on the front hood of the body, giving it a large volume, and we thought the most important aspect of this wrapping design was how to make the most of this area. We wanted to create an impression that would be easily noticeable from afar and would shine brightly, so we used colorful stripes that evoke space, the sea, the sky, the earth, and Oita's natural environment as the key design, and arranged them to flow from this hood to the entire area. The stripes are designed to flow in the direction of travel, and we thought it would be beautiful to see it running at sea. The design has a futuristic feel that leads to space and nature.

地球温暖化の影響で、北極の氷は溶け、ホッキョクグマは住む場所を失い始めています。 この木馬ではホッキョクグマが、その溶けて割れてしまった氷をたどたどしい足付きで歩いてゆく姿を現しています。この木馬は、自分の娘のために作ったものです。 売っているものを買って与えるより、せっかくだから、私のデザインしたものをあげたいとの思いからです。 私の父も、いろいろなものを作ってくれたものでした。それが、やはり私の中では印象が大きいのです。 この木馬は発表するや、世界中のデザインや環境系ブログを駆け巡りました。 その中には、カナダの北極の科学者から娘に買いたいとの連絡までありました。 これには驚きましたが、あいにくその時は商品化できていませんでした。 そして、2年くらい経ったある時、商品化したいと言ってくれる香港のブランドが現われたのです。 発表から3年の時を経てようやくHUZI DESIGNより商品化されました。

ONDAはイタリア語で波を意味します。これはチェストですが表面が波のようにカーブしています。ウォルナットとヨーロッパビーチに２種類の木のコントラストがあるデザインです。ONDA means wave in Italian. This is a chest, but its surface is curved like a wave. The design has a contrast between two types of wood in walnut and European beach.

日本は、安価な輸入材に頼ってきたので、日本中に植えられた杉の森は放置され、林業の衰退と森の荒廃が進んでいます。 日本の杉を使う事で、日本の森は元気になります。 これは、そのような杉材を用いた家具デザインの提案です。 杉の柔らかく、あたたかな質感をソファの背もたれに活かしました。 デザイン的にも暖かみのある木の質感を引き出すため、ぽってりした黒いカタマリとコントラストを活かしたデザインとしました。   杉の活用ということで、杉ばかりで家具を作る事を考えてしましますが、ここでは、杉を象徴的に用いています。 黒く重たいものに対して、軽やかな杉を対比させて見せています。 ふわっと柔らかい造形とすることで、シャープな黒とのコントラストを強調しています。 人の手の触れる部分に杉を積極的に用い、温かみある杉を触ってもらいたいと意図しました。

空気清浄器は、『きれいな空気』を生み出す機械です。しかし、どの程度の空気が機械に取り込まれ、そしてきれいになって排出され、循環しているのか私達が認識するのは難しいのです。それは空気が私達の目に見えないものだからです。しかし、空気清浄器という機械の原理上、いったん空気を機械内に取り込み、フィルターなどを通してきれいにしてから排出するという構造は、効率良く空気を循環させるためには不可避なものでもあります。そこで、ここで提案する空気清浄器は、空気清浄器内に取り込まれ、きれいになった空気をキャパシティーとして視覚化し、断続的に変化するボリュームで空間を創り出すことで、私達と空気清浄器との新しい関係を築くものです。 An air purifier is a machine that produces "clean air." However, it is difficult for us to perceive how much air is taken into the machine, purified, and then expelled and circulated. This is because air is invisible to our eyes. However, given the principle of an air purifier, the structure of taking in air, purifying it through filters, etc., and then expelling it is unavoidable in order to circulate air efficiently. Therefore, the air purifier proposed here visualizes the amount of purified air taken into the air purifier as capacity, and creates a space with a continuously changing volume, thereby establishing a new relationship between us and the air purifier.
