House in a Storm

長浜市鐘紡町の新興住宅地の集会所のコンペ案です。公園の中に敷地が設定されており、さまざまなアクティビティに対応できるよう全面土間とし、活動によってフレキシブルに空間を分けることが可能なプランとしています。公園の延長であるような地域の中の居場所を設計しました。 

「長浜・かねぼう町まちづくり」 コンペ　集会所部門　優秀賞受賞（次点） This is a competition entry for a community center in a newly developed residential area of ​​Kanabo-cho, Nagahama City. The site is located within a park, and the design features a fully earthen floor to accommodate various activities, allowing for flexible spatial division depending on the activity. The aim was to create a community space that feels like an extension of the park. "Nagahama/Kanebo Town Community Development" Competition　Excellent Award Winner (2nd)

屋島山頂の各店舗に統一的な暖簾、日除け幕を設置し、販売用の手ぬぐい、バッジも制作しました。それらは伝統工芸「讃岐のり染め」の大川原染色本舗さんに制作いただいたものです。 屋島のノスタルジックで少し寂れたイメージに合いつつも、モダンと和を併せ持ったイメージです。青色階調の差を生かした背景色と、 台形のシンボル形体の組み合わせで考えたものです。 メインモチーフの台形は屋島をシンボリックに力強く表現したもので、伝統建築の反り屋根のようでもあります。カーブをつける ことで和の印象を強めています。単体でも反復の繰り返しでも、様々な媒体などに展開されてゆくイメージで、強く柔軟に様々な ものに展開できるデザインとなっています。 背景は、「屋島をひらく」のブランドステートメントに呼応する舞台幕が開かれるようなイメージです。 この１０年にわたる高松市の尽力により高松市屋島地区が、全国の優れた都市景観の事例を表彰する「都市景観大賞」で、大賞の国土交通大臣賞に選ばれました。香川県内では初の大賞受賞だそうです。 We set up a unified curtain and sunshade at each store on the top of Mt. Yashima, and also produced tenugui hand towels and badges for sales. These were produced by Okawahara Dyeing Honpo, a traditional craftsman of "Sanuki Nori Dyeing". The image of Yashima is nostalgic and a little desolate, yet modern and Japanese at the same time. The background color is a combination of different shades of blue and the trapezoidal shape of the symbol. The Yashima district of Takamatsu City was selected for the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award, the grand prize of the Urban Landscape Awards, which recognize outstanding examples of urban landscapes from across Japan. This is the first time that an area in Kagawa Prefecture has won the grand prize.

この空間のコンセプトは、「@――デジタル時代の『個』に帰る場所」です。 情報が溢れ、常に世界と繋がっている現代社会において、あえて物理的な境界線を引くことで自分自身の中心軸を取り戻すための「現代の隠れ家」を提案しています。温かみのある杉材の有機的な曲線を持ち込むことで、視覚的な安らぎだけでなく、木の香りに包まれる深いリラックス効果を生み出しました。 入り口の暖簾に記された「@」という記号は、普段はネット上の宛先を示すものですが、ここでは「今、この場所に居ること（At Here）」という逆説的な意味を象徴しています。履物を脱ぎ、デジタルデバイスから離れて一冊の本と向き合う時間は、オンラインの自分を脱ぎ捨て、本来の自分へと帰還する儀式でもあります。過剰な演出や照明を排した清廉な光の中で、杉のぬくもりに身を預ける体験は、何もしないことの贅沢さを再定義する「パーソナルな聖域」となるでしょう。 The concept of this space is “@—A Place to Return to the ‘Self’ in the Digital Age.” In today’s society, where information is overwhelming and we are constantly connected to the world, we propose a “modern hideaway” designed to help people rediscover their inner center by deliberately drawing physical boundaries. By incorporating the organic curves of warm cedar wood, we have created not only visual comfort but also a deep sense of relaxation as visitors are enveloped in the scent of the wood. The “@” symbol inscribed on the entrance curtain typically denotes an online address, but here it symbolizes the paradoxical meaning of “being here, in this moment (At Here).” The time spent taking off your shoes, stepping away from digital devices, and engaging with a book is also a ritual for shedding your online self and returning to your true self. In the pure light, free from excessive staging or lighting, the experience of surrendering yourself to the warmth of cedar becomes a “personal sanctuary” that redefines the luxury of doing nothing.

この住居は、断崖にそびえるガラスの建築です。崖の曲面をそのままオフセットしたようなフォルムで成り立っています。 崖の前面に張り出したガラスの空間には、階段や空中リビングが配置されています。一方で、寝室・ダイニングキッチン・バスルームといった生活空間は、崖をくり抜くようにして内部に設けられています。崖の内部は温度や湿度の変化が少なく、年間を通して快適な環境を保つことができます。 それぞれの階は、前面のガラス空間によってつながれています。このガラスのファサードには、一部に半透明のアモルファス太陽電池モジュールが組み込まれており、住居に必要な電力をまかなうことが可能です。 最上部には、雨水を貯水するための池が設けられており、ガラスの屋根のみがかけられています。 このように、崖と一体化した住居は、居住者に否応なく自然環境と向き合うことを求めます。ガラスというマテリアルによって得られる環境との一体感は、同時に建築としての脆さも浮き彫りにしています。この透明な建築は、崖とともに生き、やがて崖とともに崩れていきます。その弱さに支えられた輝きこそが、自然であり美しさであるといえるでしょう。 This residence is a glass building perched on a cliff. Its form is an offset version of the cliff's curved surface. The glass space projecting from the cliff's front houses a staircase and an aerial living area. Meanwhile, living spaces such as bedrooms, a dining kitchen, and a bathroom are carved into the cliff face. The interior of the cliff maintains a stable temperature and humidity, ensuring a comfortable environment year-round. Each floor is connected by the glass space at the front. This glass facade incorporates translucent amorphous solar panels, providing the residence with the necessary electricity. At the very top, a pond for rainwater collection is located, covered only by a glass roof. In this way, the residence, integrated with the cliff, inevitably demands that its residents confront the natural environment. The sense of unity with the environment achieved through the glass material simultaneously highlights the building's inherent fragility.

オニツカタイガーヨーロッパのインスタレーションデザインです。オニツカの靴のデザインを含んだ様々な紙の蝶。それらが集合して靴の形になっています。お客さんはこの蝶を持って帰ることができます。補充するのは異なる色の蝶です。常に色が変わりますが、最後は真っ白になりマークも消えます。Onitsuka Tiger Europe installation design. Various paper butterflies containing Onitsuka shoe designs. The butterflies are assembled to form the shape of a shoe. Customers can take these butterflies home with them. Replenishing the butterflies are butterflies of different colors. The shoe constantly changes color, but at the end it becomes pure white and the mark disappears.

不意に降り出した雨。街の人々は足早に軒下を目指します。しかし、この螺旋階段が提示するのは、ただ雨を凌ぐための「停止」ではありません。雨の中に身を投じ、垂直に昇ることで雨と対話する、能動的な「雨宿り」の体験です。 螺旋に沿って一歩ずつ空へと近づくにつれ、地上を叩く喧騒は遠ざかり、階段を縁取る細い支柱は、降り注ぐ雨を水のカーテンへと変え、その内側に静寂の核（コア）を創り出します。そこは、世界と切り離された自分だけのシェルターです。 雨宿りとは、天気が回復するのを待つだけの「空白の時間」ではない。雨と溶け合い、空を見上げ、揺らぐ心を整えるための「贅沢な儀式」なのです。
雨が上がる頃、人々は新しい視点を持って、再び潤った街へと降りていくでしょう。 
Suddenly, rain begins to fall. Street dwellers hurried towards shelter. However, this spiral staircase offers more than just a temporary "stop" to escape the rain. It presents an active "rain shelter" experience, a dialogue with the rain as you ascend vertically. As you move step by step along the spiral towards the sky, the hustle and bustle of the ground recedes, and the slender pillars bordering the staircase transform the falling rain into a curtain of water, creating a core of silence within. It is your own private shelter, cut off from the world. Suddenly, rain begins to fall. Street dwellers hurried towards shelter. However, this spiral staircase offers more than just a temporary "stop" to escape the rain. It presents an active "rain shelter" experience, a dialogue with the rain as you ascend vertically. As you move step by step along the spiral towards the sky, the hustle and bustle of the ground recedes, and the slender pillars bordering the staircase transform the falling rain into a curtain of water, creating a core of silence within. It is your own private shelter, cut off from the world. Rain shelter is not merely a "blank time" spent waiting for the weather to improve. It is a "luxurious ritual" for merging with the rain, gazing at the sky, and calming your wavering heart. When the rain stops, people will descend back into the refreshed city with a renewed perspective.

赤坂サカスで開催されたCool Kyoto2011に間接照明用のLED「ウィルライン」を展示するためのブースのデザインを担当しました。 京都らしいアイデンティティと、ブースに強化ダンボールを用いることを求められました。 強化ダンボールの特性を活かし、美しい光の陰影を表現し、全体を統合させるデザインを考えました。 あかりの縦格子 間接照明によって強化ダンボールの縦格子を照らし出します。 狭く小さなスペースでありますが、遠くからでも目を引く空間的な展示什器としています。 LEDの商品をそのままただ見せるのではなく、どのようにLEDの効果があるのかを見せるものとし、 落ち着きのある美しい陰影をダンボールで描き出す事に成功しました。 LEDはあくまでも脇役であり、引き立たせるべきもの、照らし出すべきものを配置しました。

「あまな」は近江八幡丁稚羊羹の老舗和た与の経営するカフェです。そのインテリアデザインを担当しました。外観は和風であり、テイクアウト導線も設けました。モダンな和、円をテーマにしてデザインしています。Amana" is a café run by the long-established Ohmi-Hachiman Decchiyokan (sweet bean jelly) shop, Wataoyo. We were in charge of the interior design. The exterior is Japanese style, and a take-out line is also provided. The theme of the design is modern harmony and circle.

米原駅構内にびわ湖一周レンタサイクルをオープンしました。その店舗設計をしました。県産材の杉を使い、宿場町を多く有する米原に合う佇まいを目指しました。A round-the-lake Biwa bicycle rental shop has opened in Maibara Station. We designed the store. We used Japanese cedar produced in Shiga Prefecture. The design of this building was intended to fit the appearance of Yonehara, which has many old inn towns.
